George H. W. Bush

Remembering him and his visit to HSBC campus

Remembering George H. W. Bush

Here is an audio clip of the words President George H. W. Bush shared when he visited the campus of Hobe Sound Bible College for a Sunday evening service at Hobe Sound Bible Church. We have had a long-standing interaction with various members of the Bush family, beginning with President Bush’s mother, Dorothy Bush, who lived on Jupiter Island and was a contributor to the school and attended various performances and services on campus. In more recent years, President Bush’s brother and niece have contributed.

The photo included in this clip features Pastor G.R. French and HSBC President Robert Whitaker welcoming then Vice President and Mrs. Bush to the platform of the H. Robb French Tabernacle. It also includes a copy of the kind thank you note the Vice President wrote regarding the visit. In the comment section below I have included an article in our local news outlet written by Jim Olsen, former director of finance for HSBC, who arranged this special visit by the Vice President in January of 1985. As our nation lays to rest this great man, I am reminded how blessed we have been to have leaders of this caliber.
