For many years the campus plan was put on hold due to financial considerations. In 2010, in the midst of the economic downturn, the Deerbrook Charitable Trust generously provided the funds to construct the Field House. After more than a year of setbacks that included going through numerous reviews and site plan updates, we finally received the green light for construction. The new snack shop/restroom/storage facility was completed just a few months ago. The surrounding landscaping and crosswalk installation are nearly finished.
On Saturday, February 9, at 2:00 pm we will be dedicating the building in honor of Jim and Joyce Olsen. Since 1972, Jim has been an integral part of Hobe Sound, serving as director of finances for twenty years and volunteering in many other capacities. Joyce has also served as secretary in several different offices. It is with great excitement that we invite our alumni and friends to the official dedication of Olsen Field.
Following the ceremony, students and staff will be hosting a softball game. Alumni and friends are invited to be a part of this special event.
